Dear Interested Stakeholder:

You are invited to attend a public information forum sponsored by the New York State Department of Public Service (NYSDPS) to learn about the process under Article X of the New York Public Service Law that will be followed in considering a proposal by TransGas Energy Systems, LLC (TGE) to construct and operate a 1,100-megawatt combined-cycle natural gas-fired electric generating plant at One North 12th Street (on the East River between Greenpoint and Williamsburg).  The proposed plant would be known as the TransGas Energy Systems Facility.

The purpose of the forum is to explain the process and the future progress of this case.  As will be further discussed during the forum, members of the public will be provided opportunities to present their views about the proposed project at a later date as this case proceeds.
During the public forum, you will have the opportunity to:

·        Learn about the New York State siting review and certification process and the Department of Environmental Conservation’s (NYSDEC) air and water permitting processes that take place in conjunction with the Article X process.

·        Learn about how you can get involved in the review process.

·        Ask questions about the environmental impact assessment procedures concerning the project proposal. 

·        Meet with representatives from the NYSDEC and the NYSDPS.
