The
postcard that advertises what the proposed site is going to look like is
very misleading. It is very
presumptive in adding in green open fields and sports fields on what is
really NYU’s property. Also,
all along here, this is a piece of city property that commercial trucking
company person is renting. He’s
added in esplanades with trees, and none of that really has anything to do
with this site. I’m not
sure the details of his business dealings, but we are just really opposed
and believe it is really dishonest. ·
There
is deception going from the people representing TransGas.
In particular one gentleman, Mark Sindeband,
told me that tens of millions of dollars would be given to the
community for projects such as McCarnen Park, restoration of McCarren
Park, the McCarren park pool, etc. He
said these are the types of things we can do for your community.
When I pressed him on the number of 10 million dollars, he stepped
back and said oh, it wouldn’t really be fair for me to say that’s the
number. And I said well,
what’s the number, do you have a number, and he did not have a number. ·
I
would like to say that the postcard campaign they sent out to the
community, which I understand was over 5,000 postcards, I’m not sure of
that number, of which I didn’t receive one, they also show what
they’re calling an artist’s rendition of their project.
In the postcard it shows other projects, a marina, a ballpark, a
museum, and these are all projects the community has spoken about for
years. The postcard makes it
look like, that they’re going to be doing these projects and that is
very deceptive. · I hope that our lawyers defeat you. It’s disgusting that you are writing lies and putting it on print with people on vacation. ·
So much of what you have shown is based on
supposition. |
